Lecture: Setting up an Apidea…Jim Agnew

Our next webinar is with Jim Agnew who will speak on the subject of Apidea mating hives on 24th March at 7:30 pm. This virtual talk is designed for everyone, from those just thinking about queen rearing to those with years of experience. Jim will talk on how to set up the Apidea, how to manage it, and even how to use it for subsequent queens. As many of you know, a number of queen-rearing groups have been set up across the country with the goal of spreading good quality native Irish bee queens, which will hopefully produce a large number, so this is a golden opportunity to learn how you might take advantage of a virgin queen or a queen cell from these groups.
